Christina Aguilera - Hurt
November 14th 2006 05:20
Christina Aguilera has transformed her image and musical style with every album. With the new Back to Basics album, her musical style has changed from the urban and light rock sounds of Stripped to a soulful and jazz-inspired album. She asked herself what music inspired her to sing and dance, thus coming up with a concept album emulating that. Aguilera has described her newest album as an urban soul record combining elements of 1920s, '30s and '40s blues and jazz with modern day influences.
The second single from Back to Basics is "Hurt" which was written by Christina Aguilera, Linda Perry and Mark Ronson. The song's lyrical content describes how one deals with the loss of a loved one, and it has received praise from pop music critics.
The single debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 5, 2006. The single continues to climb the Hot 100 and is now at number twenty-two in its sixth week. On the Australian ARIA charts it recently debuted at #10.
