Indie Hip Hoppers The Gym Class Heroes have two videos for this song. I have gone with the Alan Ferguson clip which is a more literal interpretation of the song. Starting with a dancing cupid the clip features stump gettting shot with cupid's arrow. Look for cameo by his real life girl friend the gorgeous pop diva of the moment - Katy Perry. Enjoy

101. This Is Why I'm Hot - Mims - Directed by Dale Restighini

Rapper Mims had a big hit last year with this song explaining just why he is hot. Directed by hip hop stalwart Dale Restighini the clip for the song uses high contrast washed out shots coupled together with very fast flashy cutting - an interesting exercise in music video making and the result is quite striking as watchable. Another rapper/hip hop star doing a song about living in the fast lane with all the trappings of living in the fast lane - namely fast cars, private jets and women. Jim Jones apparently got into a bit of a war of words with fellow rap icon JayZ over this song. Here it is.

This song and video brings together a fairly unlikely partnership. The single's video, directed by Chris Robinson, features Busta Rhymes, the Flipmode Squad, and Carey lounging around an expensive mansion as they debate whether they "know what they want". Carey advertises her own brand of jewelry, Automatic Princess. I guess this is the way of music videos with alot more product tie in (a bit like Rihanna's Umbrella song cosmetics deal). How do you do a music video when the star performer is dead?? The brilliant Spike Jonze overcame this problem by using kids to portray the fast hard living lifestyle of dead rap star Notorious B.I.G. - the result is surreal but also has a kind of heart to it. The kids are like miniature versions of the stars and entourage they play and put an innocence back into what can be a violent world. It also works beautifully with the song's title and meaning behind the sky being the limit. Enjoy.

82. Candy Shop - 50 cent - Directed by Jesse Terrero

Pretty much your atypical rapper video with the candy shop being a place to find scantily clad booty shaking women. The music video was directed by Jessy Terrero and features Olivia as the lead dancer and several models including Chessika Cartwright (as a dominatrix), "Lyric" (as a nurse), and Erica Mena (as the girl in bed). It also features cameo appearances from Lil Scrappy and G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. I don't who finds this stuff fresh anymore but you have to hand it to fiddy - he has come a long way. Enjoy.

Once again the genius of director SPike Jonze is on display for all to see with this clip for old school hip hop outfit - The Pharcyde. The entire clip is in reverse but so beautifully thought out that it seems that it is moving normally just that it looks a bit weird. It has been copied many times since but no one has come close to pulling it off like Jonze. Enjoy!

Mark Romanek has worked with artists as diverse as Johnny Cash, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Weezer and Michael Jackson. Here he again shows his versatility teaming with Rapper JayZ for this fine clip for the song 99 Problems (from the black album). Breaking the stereotype of what a rap video normally looks like going for gritty black and white and beautifully shot. Watch for the cameo from famed rock/rap producer Rick Rubin. I love this clip

Talk about fun music videos - this homage to low budget 1970's cop shows is an absolute riot. Each member of the group plays an actor playing a character (complete with crazy subtitle). It moves at a million miles an hour and is a great example of Spike Jonze's sense of fun and play. Have fun with this clip

Veteran R&B and hip hop music video director Dave Meyers has made this slick video for rapper T.I. - not to be confused with the song written by American singer Nicole Scherzinger from the pussy cat dolls of the same name which featured T.I.. It is a number one on the Billboard charts and the clip is proving just as popular with over 11 million hits to date.

It features Reagan Gomez-Preston playing a girl working in a fast food restaurant who dreams of a life as the girlfiend of a famous rapper dude.

24. Heard 'Em Say - Kanye West feat. Adam Levine - Directed by Michel Gondry

This is the rare version of Kanye's Heard 'Em Say clip directed by the incredible Frech wiz Michel Gondry. It was filmed in the famous Macy's department store but the store pulled the plug on the video (apparently due to the 'government administers AIDS line) - it features cameos by Adam Levine from maroon 5 and Jon Brion who both perform in the song.

Fergie - Fergalicious

"Fergalicious" is the second single from Fergie's album The Dutchess. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #79, ascending to #3 several weeks later. This is Fergie's second top 5 US single in a row.

Many consider this song to be a big novelty song, similar to that of the Black Eyed Peas' single "My Humps" (2005). In the song, Fergie describes how her body makes the boys go crazy for her. Thus, the definition 'Fergalicious' is created to describe her sex appeal.

The music video was directed by Fatima Robinson who also shot My Humps music video. It features Fergie in a Willy Wonka inspired factory, called "Fergieland" filled with various types of candy. You can view it below.
