November 22nd 2006 04:44
Confessions on a Dance Floor is the tenth studio album and eighteenth recording by singer Madonna. It was released in 2005 and has been one of her most successful albums with international hits such as "Hung Up" and "Sorry", leading to the most successful concert tour of her career, The Confessions Tour. Confessions on a Dance Floor's sales are over 9 million worldwide. It also holds the record for topping the most charts in the world.
"Jump" is the fourth single from Confessions on a Dance Floor. It was written by Madonna, Joe Henry and Stuart Price. The song was featured in the motion picture adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada. It was widely expected that "Jump" would be on the film's soundtrack but the song was not included. Another single by Madonna, "Vogue", was included in the film as well as the film's soundtrack. So far Jump has reached #23 on the Australian singles chart, #9 in the UK and #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales.
The music video was shot in Japan and features dancers performing parkour through the streets of Tokyo. Many of the various signs and billboards on the storefronts and buildings have been altered to read, "Madonna", and "Jump", in Japanese. Madonna shot the video while on the Japanese leg of her Confessions Tour.
