20. Toxic - Britney Spears - Directed by Joseph Kahn

This one is a guilty pleasure. The song Toxic is everything a good pop song should be then way more. It's as catchy as hell but also plays with a variety of styles and genres from that bizarre almost Bollywood string line to the 1950's spy guitar sound. It is far and away the best thing Britney has ever done and a credit to her creative team.
The video is a classic example of one that follows what the song is doing in terms of style and genre - it starts off as a futuristic scene with hostesses on some kind of space plane thing - it's naughty and cheeky and has a passing nod to Roger Vadim's Barbarella. The clip then becomes Manga and has different Britneys in different situations (all kind of spy related). I don't know if this would work for a feature film (though Joseph Kahn has branched in to that area) but it works a treat here in Music video form (maybe the incredibly high $1,000,000 budget has something to do with that)
Enjoy
